Going for gold!

Going for gold!

Gold… shining, shimmering, splendid! Yes, that’s a piece of the song ‘A Whole New World’, who doesn’t love the movie Aladdin?

I love a slight shimmer, a highlighter or a touch of gold in the inner corner of your eye! I’m more subtle with my gold makeup but I’ve seen a few women rock a gold lipstick or intense gold eyeshadow.  While it’s not my bag I take my hat off to those who can pull it off!

Gold is such a beautiful colour to wear in jewellery too. Most girls are gold OR silver types, it usually depends on your skin tone and what looks better on you. I am a bit of an anomaly and luckily they both work for me. I used to stick to wearing one or the other at a time but I’ve become increasingly brave and will now mix the two and not constantly wonder if people think I look like a clown. Oh self-confidence… 🙄.

Some background on Gold from Wiki:

Gold is a chemical element with symbol Au and atomic number 79. In its purest form, it is a bright, slightly reddish yellow, dense, soft, malleable and ductile metal. Chemically, gold is a transition metal and a group 11 element. It is one of the least reactive chemical elements and is solid under standard conditions. The metal, therefore, occurs often in free elemental (native) form, as nuggets or grains, in rocks, in veins, and in alluvial deposits. It occurs in a solid solution series with the native element silver (as electrum) and also naturally alloyed with copper and palladium. – Wikipedia

Want some golden makeup tips? Here they are:
Highlight your face with gold

If you want a healthy but subtle glow just add a luminizer in a more golden shade to your foundation.

Apply in the right places, cheeks, eyes, lips, use it to contour, but don’t over do it!

A subtle shimmer bronzer on your cheekbones can accentuate any look.

Use a bronzer brush, it’s a necessity.

Happy Makeup-ing!

Heya just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know a few
of the images aren’t loading properly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue.
I’ve tried it in two different browsers and both show the same results.
